Why Our Slabs Are The Best:
We use mostly urban logs that we buy from arborists that were removed because they were dying or damaged in storms.
Our band sawmill can cut up to 70” wide and 40’ long
Our chain sawmill can cut up to 108” wide
All of our live edge slabs are properly air dried for 1 to 5 years, then we finish drying them in one of our 2 custom vacuum kilns. These custom computer controlled vacuum kilns produce very high quality drying of our slabs.
After the slabs are dried, we sand them flat and clean up both faces.

Our slabs are stored in four huge buildings in vertical stacks for easy customer viewing if you are able to make the trip!

Shipping Details:
Each slab order is shipped in a fully enclosed custom built wooden crate to ensure safe transit. These crates must be shipped to you by freight truck. You will need to provide us with your complete delivery address and whether this location is commercially or residentially zoned so we can accurately arrange your shipment.

Redwood is found in the Coastal Northwestern United States from Southwestern Oregon to Central California.
Color:
The heartwood ranges from light pink-brown to a deep red-brown. The sapwood is a pale white to tan. The heartwood of old growth is much darker and denser with less sapwood. Redwood can occasionally be found with curly, quilted, burly, or lace figure.
Janka Hardness:
450 (very soft)
Durability:
Rated moderately to very durable. Old Growth tends to be more durable than New Growth.
Weather Resistance:
Redwood is rated with high decay resistance and pest resistance. Old Growth is rated much better in both categories than New Growth is. The sapwood of both Old and New Growth Redwood has little to no decay resistance.
Workability:
Redwood is considered a lightweight and stable wood that is easy to work with by hand tools or machinery. It glues and finishes well.
Uses:
Redwood is best known for its use as external construction for both residences and commercial buildings, decks, hot tubs, etc. Large slabs are often used for table tops.
