Description
A surplus copy of a 1931 German "Southern Baltic Sea" handbook, likely used for navigation by sailors in the German Navy as evidenced by the "stamp". This copy was admitted to the United States Library of Congress in October of 1945, just shortly after the end of the war, and apparently sold off as a surplus copy some time later.520 pages. E. S. In addition to the latest nautical charts listed in the chart overview below, this edition was based on the nautical manuals Then Danske Lods 1925 and Ting 1928, Den Danske Havnelods 1928
but Tile 1929. Svensk Lots Del 11 1928 together with Til 1930, Swedish Harbors 1928; also reports and questionnaires from German consulates. Inten, war and merchant ships, as well as the results of the latest measurements on the German coast.
The reference map and the sections on tides, reference, wind, weather, currents and Els have been processed by the German Sea Watchdog in Hamburg.
Messages regarding the correction and completion of this manual are received with thanks from the Nautical Department of the Naval Management, Berlin W10, Knigin-Augusta-Straße 38-42, and from the departments of the Naval Management (p. 14).
